200 Hour Teacher Training Program
This course is for aspiring teachers, teachers wanting to further their studies, and for students relatively new to yoga with a desire to learn more.
Deepen and clarify your experience of yoga through this intensive study. Learn how to bring the joy of yoga to others in a clear and safe format. In this training you will learn how to hold a creative and open environment in which students will feel encouraged to explore the mind, body, and spirit. This course is a journey through the physical aspects of the practice as well its history and philosophy.
We will delve into a set vinyasa sequence and study the sun salutations in order to understand the mechanics and rationale behind a vinyasa's structure. Once these basics are internalized you will learn to use them as tools to creatively weave together your own new asana sequences.
As well as in-depth physical practice, you will also learn how to understand the body, its alignment, and how to give assists and adjustments. The subtler energies of the body will be explored through study of the bandhas, charkas, and chanting.
Selected readings, lectures, and discussions will enliven the spiritual aspects of your practice with the richness of yogic history and philosophy. Meditation will be practiced during each of our days together, and encouraged through the sharing of experience and questions during class.
Other topics include: an introduction to pre and post natal yoga, the basics of Ayurveda, Ethics for yoga teachers, Yamas and Niyamas, business advice and development, a journey through the Koshas, Anatomy, Karma Yoga (service in your community)...and much more!
